Configuring
Netscape Messenger 4 to use Apex POP3 Email
Netscape
Messenger 4 is 100% compatible with our POP3 servers,
to read/send email. We recommend Netscape Messenger
4 for a very compatible, versatile, and stable email
program. To set up Netscape to read/send mail with your
Apex account, please follow these steps:
1)
Open Netscape Messenger (go to the Communicator menu
and then to Messenger). If it is your first time running
Netscape, accept all defaults in the setup Wizard.
2)
Go to the Edit menu, then to Preferences. Under "Mail
& Newsgroups", go to Identity. Double check
that your full name and email address are correct in
the appropriate fields. (See illustration below).

3)
On the left go to "Mail Servers". On the right
click the "Add" button. Enter "mail.apex-internet.com"
for Server Name. Make sure the "Server Type"
is set to POP3. Also enter your assigned username under
"User Name". Make sure that "Check for
mail every..." is checked, and that the value is
20 minutes or less. You can optionally check the box
"Automatically download any new messages".
Click OK to return to the Preferences window.

4)
Make sure that "Outgoing mail sever" is set
to "mail.apex-internet.com". You do not need
to specify an "Outgoing mail server user name:".

5)
Click OK to save the settings. You can now use Netscape
to send and receive mail.
