Lobby - First Floor - Phase One
This 3,000 sq. ft. entry foyer will create an exciting public and meeting space for group tours, opening receptions and museum events. With a 1 ½ story ceiling and a glass front, it will offer spectacular views of works of art from the outside and make a dramatic statement to passersby. Large sculptures and paintings will be displayed in this area.

Art Promenade - First and Second Floors - Phase One
A signature element, the promenade wraps around the front facade to connect the lobby with upper galleries. In this accessible connection, visitors move along the street front punctuated with sculptural "art landings" from which to view interior and exterior exhibits.

First Floor Collection Gallery - First Floor - Phase One
This 3,000 sq. ft. gallery will display objects from the collection, replacing some of the current museum’s exhibition space. The ceiling will be 16 ft. to showcase important pieces.

Museum Store - First Floor - Phase One
This 400 sq. ft. store will increase the space to display merchandise including books and exhibition-related merchandise as well as room for browsers to view items.

Works on Paper Gallery - First Floor - Phase One
This 750 sq. ft. gallery will be for the display and study of works on paper within properly designed cases for exhibition and storage. The gallery portion will accommodate up to 20 students in seminars and will make more of the works on paper collection accessible to researchers.

Discovery Gallery - First Floor - Phase One
This 500 sq. ft. gallery will provide dynamic opportunities for families and small groups to interact with displays and activities related to museum exhibitions.

Learning Center - First Floor - Phase One
This 800 sq. ft. room will provide many opportunities for educational activities including hands-on projects and lectures

Offices - First Floor - Phase One
The museum’s offices will be renovated and expanded to provide separate offices for the museum’s professional staff.

Visitor Amenities - First Floor - Phase One
Visitor amenities will include a coat area and restrooms.

Collection Preparation - First Floor - Phase One
This area will include space to prepare exhibitions and store shipping materials.

Collection Storage - First Floor - Phase Two
This 3,800 sq. ft. area will provide storage for works of art in the collection.

Greek & Roman, Islamic, Asian and African Galleries - First Floor - Phase Two
This 4,000 sq. ft. area will be divided into four galleries to display Greek & Roman, Islamic, Asian and African works of art from the museum’s collection.

River Lobby and Member and Volunteer Room - First Floor - Phase Two
This 2,500 sq. ft. lobby will provide additional space for groups to gather and provide stunning views of the Red Cedar River, offering opportunities for museum events and the display of sculpture from the collection. A 500 sq. ft Member and Volunteer room providing a meeting space for the Friends Board and the Museum's volunteers will be part of this area. It will also be used for small receptions.

River Terrace - First Floor - Phase Two
This terrace will provide a space for gathering in good weather.
